The blogger

I am transparent. What you see is what you get. Most of the time people don't understand me, or what I'm saying, but it's far simpler than what they think it is. I act like a kid all the time, finding pleasure in the simple things that life has to offer, because I find a curious freedom in being child-like. Most of the time you will see me with my head in the clouds, dreaming about the most impossible things like unicorns and giant butterflies. Every once in a while, my imagination goes berserk and if you happen to be with me during these times, you will find yourself in the midst of a fast whirling hurricane of ethereal things and ideas. I love to lose myself in the music of everyday life for i believe that every moment of our life here on earth is worth living.

I am me.

Once again the Phlippines is in the middle of a world-wide controversy. People are out on the streets, waving their flags in commemoration of the first EDSA People Power Revolution but deep down, their staging another rebellion, this time against the Arroyo administration.

Back in 1986, we have caught the world's attention with the unbelievable sights of guns bowing down before rosaries and people being hosed down by sharp jets of water. it was the first non-violent revolution that the Filipino people had undertaken and the world was amazed with it. Now, after 20 years and 3 more "EDSA Revolutions", I'm afraid that the world will be saying "There they go again."

Don't get me wrong. I'm proud to be a Filipino. But there are just times when I wish that everybody would get their heads out of the clouds and get to work. Look at what the television networks are showing: the Ayala Avenue, said to be the business district of the Philippines, is crowded by the throngs of people asking for the president to step down. They won't be able to accomplish anything with these rallies and protests. People in power need to recognize that the system is corrupted and rotten and must undertake any means possible to make it new again. Sabi nga ni Rizal sa Noli, may kanser, at nabubulok na ang sistema natin. People are tired of protests and rallies. It won't be long before they get impatient and finally do something. It's already manifesting in the junior officers of the army, and soon it will spread to the peoples. If they want to save the system, they better act now, or else somebody's going to do it for them.

EDSA holds a lot of fond memories for many people. EDSA 1 was only the beginning of a new and bright future for the Filipinos but the problem was they didn't make the most of it. Now, they're staging another EDSA Revolution and I'm hoping that this time around, they're going to get things right.
