Gawd. It's been ages, scores, decades, centuries ago since I've last updated my blog. Things got
B-U-S-Y over the summer. I had my On the Job Training at the National Historical Institute. I was a research assistant at the Research, Publications and Heraldry Division under Dr. Augusto De Viana. Very brilliant man, I must say. I got to research at the National Archives, and at the National Library for the biographies that they made me write. Haha I know I might sound nerdy, but the first time I held an
original,
Spanish,
ANCIENT document (you know, the kind that's already flaking and crumbling with each touch) with my gloved hands was one of the most amazing times of my life. Yeah yeah Carl, I know. I'm a nerd. So what? :) It was wonderful. My whole OJT experience was wonderful. If I had another shot at it, I'd still go to NHI. The BEST training I have ever received as a historian.
Back to school. My schedule's pretty light this term. Almost all of my majors and my minor subjects are done in Yuchengco. Pretty relieving, especialy now that I'm sick with asthma (again). Hmm I have SOEASIA, USAHIST, CONPHIL, SPANTRI, RELSTRI, and PHILPER for this term. My Philosophy of the Person (PHILPER) subject is pretty interesting. My professor, Sir Villacorta, has a very enigmatic personality. It really goes well with the subject that he's teaching. Everytime we're in class, he just goes crazy. His enthusiasm goes through the roof. Nakakahawa. :) Spanish Three (SPANTRI) also is very interesting. Our professor, Sir Luisen (Luis Enrique Elias Ruiz) is a 100% Spaniard, and can also be considered as 100% eye candy . Too bad. We think he's
queer. :) The actions say it all. Oh well. Gone are the days when I used to dream of having a really gwapo Spanish guy sweeping me off my feet with sweet phrases (Mi estrella fugaz) (Querida, te echo de menos) yadada.
Hmm what else? I'm really looking forward to LASARET this term. It will be Mardane's first time to help out in the program, and I'm excited for her. I hope she enjoys it as much as I do. Also, I'm looking forward to getting closer with the newbies in the office. *jumps up and down, imitating Majoy*
Before I leave, I want to thank Junoness for the 'mazing cd that she gave me. You're right dear, So Contagious by Acceptance really rocks. :) Here are some of my fave lines in the song:
Oohhh, when I'm around you I'm predictableCause I believe in loving you with first sightI know it's crazy but I'm hoping toTo take a hold of youThat's it. Till next time. Stay happy y'all. :)
